On 14 August 2026, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency granted conditional preliminary approval for a national trust charter to World Liberty Trust Company, the banking arm of World Liberty Financial. That venture is roughly 38% owned by an entity affiliated with Donald Trump and members of his family.
